The
Coast Guard Auxiliary is the volunteer civilian, non-military
component of
the United States Coast Guard. The Auxiliary is a
service organization providing:
PUBLIC
EDUCATION
VESSEL EXAMINATIONS
OPERATIONS
FELLOWSHIP
The
Vessel Examinations program offers boaters free, annual checks of
their boats'
safety equipment and a general view of other
equipment. Its Operations program helps
in search and rescue
efforts, regatta patrols, boat parades and other similar efforts.
Its
Public Education courses in safe boating skills and seamanship
reach people of all ages.

Flotilla
59 accepts applications for membership all year round. Come to
a flotilla meeting on the second Tuesday of the month
and
meet the members and introduce yourself. All we ask is that
interested applicants be at least 17 years of age, a US citizen
and
present proof of successful completion of a boating safety course and
be free from felony convictions. We are a dues
based
organization and wear the uniform of the United States Coast Guard
Auxiliary which is part of the
United States Coast Guard.
